An Introduction to IYCON Tools for QPR

IYCON Tools for QPR give you the ability to carry out rapid QPR implementations / QPR Proof of concepts, with minimal effort.
This toolset is valuable at any phase of a QPR deployment, whether it be:-

• Presales for a proof of concept
• a startup project
• a steady state QPR Installation
• subsequent roll outs of QPR

The tools are designed to be used by QPR Designer Users and help them to automate tasks which are repetitive in nature.
The toolset also provides in-built reports to provide better administrative control of the QPR Installation.

Why make a Toolset for QPR

During deployment of QPR products, we have recognized the following tasks which are addressed by IYCON Tools:-

• Need to automate scorecard builds
• Need to create rapid proof of concepts
• Need to simplify manual data load
• Need to generate better reports on scorecard structures and user rights

The basis for the Toolset is QPR API which already provides all the above possibilities. However, QPR API is not easy to use without programming knowledge. IYCON Tools provides a Simple Interface to harness the power of QPR API.

Functional Overview of QPR Tools

• Administrator Module
• Create Scorecard Hierarchy (QPR Scorecard) - Easily create a scorecard hierarchy unlimited levels deep, using a readymade template which is available in excel.
• Manage Scorecard Element Properties (QPR Scorecard) - Once the scorecard structures are built, it is easy to maintain the attributes of each element for individual series centrally in a grid format including:-
  • Name
  • Description
  • Roles
  • Unit
  • Value Settings
  • Period Level
  • Period Accumulation

• User Module
  • Manage Data (export & import data through excel) - The Manage Data Module allows administrative users / data owners to load data into the scorecard models. Centralized data management becomes easy, as an excel sheet can be generated for data entry, mailed to the users, and re-imported into QPR Scorecard via the Tool.
    • Data can be exported to a grid within the Tool itself and updated, and re-loaded to QPR Scorecard.
    • If required, the entire structure can be exported to excel, data updated and then reloaded into the grid in the Tool for validation. This is then uploaded to QPR Scorecard at the click of the button.
    • Users can choose to view all series, or only series which have manual input.
    • Users can choose the period for which the data needs to be exported.

Scorecard Maintenance Report

• This report generates a detailed report within IYCON Tools, for all scorecards in a model, or for individual scorecards. For each Element on the Scorecard the following details are generated:-
  • Element Name
  • Element Symbol
  • Unit
  • Value Settings
  • Period Level
  • Periodic Accumulation
• Moreover, for each series within the value settings for the Element the following details are generated:-
  • Series Name
  • Series Symbol
  • Unit - (Default / )
  • Periodic Accumulation - (Default / )
• This report can be exported to Excel for later reference.
